The funeral for Mrs. Susie Jane Sanderson Benton will be Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at 3 p.m., at Elkins Funeral Home chapel, Florence, with the Rev. Bill Harper and the Rev. Tom Whatley officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends before service time from 1-3 p.m. Elkins Funeral home is assisting the family.Mrs. Benton was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful Christian and a faithful member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed the lost art of tatting and was a wonderful cook, who loved entertaining.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Thomas Benton Sr.; son, Robert Thomas Benton Jr.; grandson, John L. Benton Jr.; great-great-grandson, Wyatt Wills; four sisters; three brothers; daughter-in-law, Helen Benton; son-in-law, William D. Lazenby Sr.She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Pallbearers will be Adam Teague, Robert Lazenby, William D.
