A graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden for Dorothy S. Barnes, 81, who died Sept. 25, 2007 in Minden.

Mrs. Barnes was born in New Hampshire Oct. 3, 1925, to Hugh and Carrie Wheeler Sawyer.

She and her late husband, Ralph Dudley, traveled from Maine with their newborn son, Rick, to Minden, where they were one of the first homesteaders on Johnson Lane in 1955. She married Darwin Barnes Aug. 24, 1985, in Sun Valley.

She is survived by her husband, of Minden; her son, Rick Dudley, of Minden, stepson, Daniel Barnes, and wife, Kathy, of Minden, LeRoy Barnes, of Carson City; daughters, Marilyn Dudley, of Hesperia, California, Susan Dudley, of Minden and stepdaughter, Brenda Barnes, of Reno. She is also survived by her brother, Fredrick Sawyer, of Arizona; her sister, Elizabeth Wolfe, of Chico, California; as well as 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City.
