2 Jun 2009: Viola E. Baney, 92, of State College, formerly of Bellefonte, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township. Born on October 13, 1916 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late William Schaffer and Sarah Saylor Schaffer. On June 22, 1932 she married Guy W. Baney who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. Viola was of the Protestant Faith. She was a loving mother who enjoyed cooking and baking. Viola is survived by four daughters; Shirley Morgret (Bill), of Woodward, Donna Morgret (Robert), of Farrandsville, Nancy Hill (Tom), of Millhall, Diane Karcher (Dave), of Newark, Del., five sons; Kim Baney (Lorraine), of Milesburg, Ed Baney (Gloria), of Bellefonte, Rex Allen Baney (Patty), of Grassflat, Gary Baney (Sunda), of Warriors Mark, and Guy W. Baney Jr, (Lorraine), of Boulder City, Nev.; also surviving her are numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three sons; Jackie Robert Baney, Charles Richard Baney, and James Earl Baney. There will be a public visitation held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 10-11 a.m. the time of the service at the Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Bo King officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
