April 23, 1938 - May 19, 1994

Former Fremonter Mary K. Scherf, 56, of Mancelona, Mich., died Thursday at
Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Mich.
She was born in Fremont to Darrell and Katherine (Paulus) Rowe. She married
LaVern A. Scherf on Sept. 9, 1967, in Vickery. He survives.
She enjoyed bingo and crafts and was a member of the Eagles, VFW and American
Legion auxiliaries.
She moved to Mancelona from Marblehead 10 years ago.
Surviving are sons, LaVern E. of Albuquerque, N.M., Patrick G. of Wichita, Kan.,
Thomas L. of Las Vegas, Nev., and Frank K. of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters Norma
Chase of Ontario, Canada, Nancy Martin and Jeanne Scherf of Albuquerque; her
fahter of Sandusky; and several grandchildren. Also surviving are aunts in
Fremont. Sons Dennis and Michael are deceased.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska, Mich.
with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
