Linda V. Adames (1946 - 2014)

OLEAN - Linda V. Adames, of 126 S. Second St., passed away Wednesday (July 16, 2014) at Cuba Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Linda was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Hoboken, N.J., and was a daughter of Otto and Gertrude Klink Schlegel. On Sept. 14, 1974, in Jersey City, N.J., she married her husband of almost 40 years, Norberto J. "Norby" Adames, who survives.

Linda graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in 1964. She and her husband, Norby, moved to Olean from Jersey City in 1990. Linda worked in offices for several companies through Kelly Temporary Service in Olean, and while in New Jersey she was a typist in an office and a mail clerk for an attorney in New York City. Linda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cuba and the Hinsdale Central Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Linda's greatest joy was helping other people. She was a full-time regular pioneer/minister for more than 27 years.

Along with her loving husband, Norby, Linda is survived by two nephews, John (Carrie) Adames of Elkland, Pa., and Raymond (Jennifer) Adames of Buffalo; and two brothers-in-law, Juan Adames of Corning and Jorge Adames of Olean.

Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5894 Route 305, Cuba, NY 14727.
