Ruth E. Acker, 84, formerly of Lyons, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Kutztown Manor where she was a resident since 1997. She was the wife of the late Ernest M. Acker who died in April 12, 1997.
Born in Fleetwood, PA she was a daughter of the late Fernando and Maggie A. (Lamp) Schlegel. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Temple Apparel Company for seven years, until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Kutztown.
She is survived by Daughter, Deloros J. (Acker) Trumbauer, Petersburg, WV.; Sons, Frederick C. Billiard, Fleetwood, Edwin J. Billiard, Mertztown, Dale G. Schlegel, Fleetwood; Sister, Miriam M. (Schlegel) McClelland, Woodruff, SC. In addition she is survived by 4 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial Services are Saturday, January 19 2008 at 11:00 AM from Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 125 Koffee Lane, Kutztown. Inurnment will be in Lyons Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
