Mary (Schwan) Benshoof, 87, died on Oct. 26, 2012 with her family around her. She was born in Portland on June 24, 1925 to Jacob and Marie Schwan. Mary lived in Portland while growing up and during her early marriage. She lived in the Damascus area and later in the Estacada area before moving to Canby in 2000. She loved to play cards, bunco and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Jan Mantei of Canby, Patricia Krause of Oregon City and Brad Benshoof of Milwaukie; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was a homemaker, wonderful mother, waitress and a sampler at Costco. No service was held as per her wishes.
