Great Kills resident was administrative assistant
Carole Scorsese , 67, of Great Kills, an administrative assistant for a corporate insurance firm, died Sunday at Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.
Born Carole Angelina in Brooklyn, she settled with her family in Great Kills in 1969.
Mrs. Scorsese was a homemaker who returned to work in 1992, when she became an administrative assistant with Willis North America Insurance in Manhattan. She had been with the firm for 18 years.
Family said she loved to shop and dote on her grandchildren.
"She was a wonderful mom who loved her grandchildren," said her daughter, Lisa Campbell.
Mrs. Scorsese 's brother-in-law is the Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese .
She was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
Surviving Mrs. Scorsese in addition to her daughter, Lisa Campbell, are her husband of 48 years, Frank Scorsese ; two sons, Christopher and Frank Scorsese , and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Colonial Funeral Home, New Dorp, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
