MARGARET HASSEMER
(1867 - 1941)

Mrs. Louis Hassemer, 74, died early this morning at the Holy Family hospital where she had been taken after she suffered a stroke Sunday morning during mass at the St. Ann’s Catholic church at Francis Creek.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the home at Francis Creek and at 9:30 at St. Ann’s church, the Rev. Joseph Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 7 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Wednesday and Wednesday morning it will be moved to the family home in Francis Creek to lie in state there until the hour of the funeral.

Mrs. Hassemer was a member of the Rosary society of St. Ann’s church and the rosary will be recited at the bier on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Mrs. Hassemer was born May 11, 1867, in the town of Kossuth and lived there all her life. Her name was Margaret Seidl before her marriage on February 12, 1885 to Louis Hassemer. Mr. Hassemer died six years ago.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Louis Kerscher and Mrs. Frank Kerscher of Francis Creek, Mrs. John Meyer of Rockwood, Mrs. Edmund Glaeser of Manitowoc and Mrs. George Wager of Milwaukee; two sons, Henry and Charles of Francis Creek; one brother, Michael Seidl of Manitowoc; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Reichart of this city; 26 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
