Loretta M. Sharkey Barnett, 82 Of Eddystone Loretta M. Sharkey Barnett, 82, died January 5, 2012 at Taylor Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chester, she was daughter of the late Leo J. and Helen Leslie Sharkey and was a lifelong resident of Eddystone. Loretta was a graduate of Eddystone High School, Class of 1947 where she was a standout girl's athlete. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events, loved Philadelphia sports teams and tennis but most important was her devotion to her children and grandchildren. She was wife of the late William M. Barnett Sr., her husband of 54 years, who died on September 16, 2004; mother of the late Robert A. and Loretta Barnett; grandmother of the late Colleen Connolly; great-grandmother of the late Reese Goslee. Also pre-deceased by her siblings Helen E., Harry J., Thomas E., Sara A. and James L. Sharkey. Survivors: Her children Kristine Albaugh (George), Jaclyn Battinieri (Guy), William M. Barnett Jr. (JoAnne), Helen Fotiades (John), Tracy Connolly and Thomas J. Barnett (Dawn); her brother Richard Sharkey, also 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass 11 AM Monday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Simpson St. & Chester Pike, Eddystone Visitation 8:30 to 10:15 AM Monday at White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park Burial: Immaculate Heart Cemetery Memorial Gifts: may be made to First Candle, In Memory of Reese Jaclyn Goslee, 1314 Bent Ford Ave., Suite 210, Baltimore, MD 21208.
