Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Shea-Barnes lived there and in Commack, LI for much of her life. She moved to New Springville after her marriage in 2004.
She worked as an equal-oppportunity-compliance officer for the MTA in Brooklyn for the past three years. Previously, she was in the same post at Jet Blue Airways.
She was a parishioner of Christ the King R.C. Church in Commack.
Her husband, Thomas, said, "My wife enjoyed her family and her friends. She liked traveling and sunsets."
Also surviving are her parents, Rita and Robert Shea; a brother, Robert J. Jr., and three sisters, Ellen Justice, Maureen Shea, and Maryellen Hammill.
The funeral will be held on Saturday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
