FUQUA, ANN SHELBY, Born Oct. 28, 1922 in Dallas, Texas; passed away Dec. 13, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona, after a brief illness of complications from diabetes. After graduating from SMU, she worked for American Airlines where she met her future husband, Dr. Foster Fuqua, a well-known Dallas urologist. They married Nov. 1945 and lived in Highland Park until his death in 1976. Although moving to Phoenix a few years ago, she maintained a residence in University Park. An avid reader and bridge player, she loved life. She is survived by daughters Shelby Fuqua of University Park and Suzanne Fuqua Riedy (Gerry) of Phoenix; her son, Lee Foster Fuqua (Julia) of University Park; a granddaughter, Allison West Irwin (Ben) of Phoenix; and a sister-in-law, Lucile Fuqua, of Highland Park. Funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wynne Chapel at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Operation Kindness, Hospice of the Valley in Arizona, or to a charity of your choice.
