LOS ANGELES - Theresa Ann Beaumont, 64, of Los Angeles, formerly of Springfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Crescent Bay Convalescent Center in Santa Monica, Calif.

She was born July 25, 1942, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the Rev. James K. and Theresa Davis Shelby.

She married Jesse Beaumont in Springfield; he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Beaumont graduated from high school in Brooklyn in 1960 and attended State Community College in East St. Louis, where she later served as faculty secretary.

She graduated from Scotiaa's School of Cosmetology, taught cosmetology at Debiea's School of Beauty and owned and operated Trendsetters Beauty Shop for many years, all in East St. Louis.

She worked for Razzle Dazzle Beauty Salon in Los Angeles for several years and was an office assistant for Los Angeles County, an intermediate clerk for the Superior Court and a senior clerk and supervisor from the County Probation Department.

She attended Southern Tabernacle Baptist Church in Brooklyn and sang in the youth, young adult and gospel choirs.

She was a member of Cochran Avenue Baptist Church in Los Angeles and sang in the church praise choir and was a member of the Bereavement Committee and Culinary Committee.

Survivors: sister, Mildred Wilson of Madison; brother, the Rev. Claude E. (wife, Montrula) Shelby Sr. of Champaign; 13 nephews; 14 nieces; and many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services: noon Wednesday, Union Baptist Church, the Rev. T. Ray McJunkins officiating.

Burial: Roselawn Cemetery.

Walker Funeral Service and Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
