Monna Lou Beaird, 86, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in her home. She was born September 25, 1924 in Ada, Oklahoma to Chester and Allie Mae Shelby. She graduated from high school in Fitzhugh, OK in 1942. In 1944, Monna married Venoy C. Beaird and became a resident of MWC and a charter member of The First Baptist Church of MWC. Monna started her career working at Douglas Aircraft then Tinker Air Force Base, which she left to raise her family. She then served over 21 years of employment with the MWC Police Department, where she was promoted to Secretary for the Chief of Police. Monna displayed her love for the Lord while being involved in various organizations and as a faithful Christian that touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Venoy C. Beaird, her twin children, Barry D. Beaird, Bette L. Patterson and grandson, Brent D. Beaird. She is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly A. Minnick and Barbara S. Day, both of MWC, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a large number of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church of MWC with interment following at Arlington Cemetery. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of MWC Building Fund or Falls Creek.
