Mrs. Cordelia Emogene Bryant died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nellie Miner, at Corning, la., on Saturday, November 25 from Bright's disease, after an illness of about a year.

She was a daughter of Hiram G. and Lydia (Ballou) Sheldon, and was born in Monroe, Franklin county, Mass., on May 31, 1833. When about ten years of age, she removed with her parents to Adams, Mass., where she was married on March 27, 1852, to Dr. William W. Bryant.

In October 1856, Dr. and Mrs. Bryant removed to Sycamore, where they were well known residents for some 40 years. Dr. Bryant erected the spacious residence on the corner of Main and Elm streets, in which location he made his home almost from his advent here.

A short time after his death in 1899, Mrs. Bryant, removed to Corning where her daughter and son had become residents.

To Dr. and Mrs. Bryant were born four children: Dr. Charles H., who is a practicing physician at Corning; Austin B. and Willis M., who was born and grew to manhood in Sycamore, and who died, the former in 1886 and the latter in 1893, both in the prime of their young manhood; and Nellie, who is the wife of Mr. Miner, a prominent business man of Corning.

Mrs. Bryant had become widely known during her long residence here, and was esteemed for her kindly traits and devotion to her family and friends. The remains were brought to Sycamore on Monday, and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. W. Millar, at 2 p.m. at the Universalist church, of which Mrs. Bryant had been for many years a devoted member. The remains were interred beside those of the husband and children in Elmwood cemetery.
