Isaac Shepherd was the son of William Shepherd Jr and Elizabeth Yerby Shepherd. He married Martha Ann Poe, daughter of Simon and Margaret McMillan Poe. Their children were; William Silas, Michael Newton, Jasper Alexander, Nancy Francis, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Thomas L and Martha A Shepherd.
Isaac moved his family with the Poes and others to Fayette Co., AL about 1825. In 1834 the "Shepherd" Baptist Church was formed at the home of Isaac. This Church is still active today.
