Isaac Shepherd Died Jan. 24
Isaac Shepherd, 94, a resident of the Highwood area nearly all his life, died last Thursday night, Jan. 24, in a Great Falls hospital where he had been a patient for two months.
Funeral services were held Monday in Immaculate Conception church in Fort Benton, with burial in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Shepherd was born on the ranch of his parents, Newton and Julia Finley Shepherd, early day residents of the Highwood area. He continued to ranch there until he moved to Great Falls 11 years ago. He attended school at St. Ignatius Mission and at Fort Shaw.
In his early days he rode on the big roundups of the J. H. Green outfit and the Shonkin Livestock Association. He married Belle Buckmister in Fort Benton Dec. 13, 1910. She survives him, as does a son, Archie E. Shepherd of Highwood; daughters, Mrs. Edith Odegard and Mrs. Hazel Brazee of Great Falls; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
