OBITUARY.

FRANK H. SHERIFF.

MR. FRANK H. SHERIFF died at his home in Vermontville, August 3rd, after several years suffering from Brights disease. He was born in Victor, Ontario Co., New York. He came to Michigan in December 1857 and with his parents settled near Hastings.

He was united in marriage to FRANCES L. ADAMS of Clarkson, New York, 1870. Returning to Hastings he remained there about two years, then came to Vermontville where he has resided most of the time since. One son was born November 19th, 1872, who is now deceased.

Mr. Sheriff was a member of the Congregational church and was baptized by Rev. Smith, a former pastor here. Friends and acquaintances will remember him as a painter and decorator as he worked at that trade most of his life.

The funeral was held from the home Friday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery.

He was a kind and loving husband and leaves many friends besides a wife and four brothers to mourn his loss. [entire line obscured] ...Wm. Cronk of Hastings, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Adams of Jackson.
