WOMAN DIES OF BULLET WOUND
Nancy Lee Johnson, 41, of 39984 Booth Kelley Rd., Springfield, died Wednesday night as the result of a bullet wound received Monday night.

Springfield police are still investigating the shooting to determine if the wound was self-inflicted.

Mrs. Johnson died shortly before midnight at McKenzie-Willamette Memorial Hospital, a spokesman said.

Police said the woman was found on an apartment balcony at 1875 Mohawk Blvd. after a telephone report that a woman had shot herself.

JOHNSON - Nancy Jean Johnson of 39984 Booth Kelly Road, Springfield died November 24, 1976. She was born February 20, 1935 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons: Don Stapley, living at home, and Dan Stapley, of New Zealand; two sisters: Elaine Griffin of Misssion Viejo, California, Diane Kruger of Phoenix, Arizona; her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Showell of Prescott, Arizona. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 27 at 10 a.m. in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Reverend Meredith Groves officiating. The family requests donations may be made to Room 8, a Cat Care Foundation in care of LOUNSBURY-MUSGROVE MORTUARY.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE SET FOR GUNSHOT VICTIM
A graveside service will be today in Eugene for a Springfield woman who died Wednesday as a result of a bullet wound received Monday night.

The service will be at 10 a.m. in Rest-Have Memorial Park for Nancy Lee Johnson, of 39984 Booth Kelley Rd. She was found on an apartment balcony at 1875 Mohawk Blvd., Springfield, after a telephone report that a woman had shot herself.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons, Don Stapley of Springfield and Dan stapley of New Zealand; two sisters: Elaine Griffin of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Diane Kruger of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Showell of Prescott, Ariz.

The two articles have her middle name as Lee, but the obituary has Jean. (?????)

Nancy Jean Showell Johnson is correct. She is my maternal aunt. The article suggests "Lee" as her middle name however it is correctly "Jean" as her middle name.
