Frances Sims Daniel was born in Hanover County, Virginia on January 19, 1796, the youngest daughter of Judith Cross Sims and William Sims, a Revolutionary War soldier. Her family moved to Maury County, Tennessee where Frances married Rev. John M. Daniel on July 11, 1816. Children of the marriage were William J. Daniel, Jesse Lee Danial, John Daniel, Thomas Daniel, Isabella Daniel and Margaret Daniel. Husband John M. Daniel died in 1848. Frances gathered he life, belongings, servants and some of her family and travelled from Lauderdale, Alabama to what is now University Park in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas as one of the first pioneering families in Dallas County. The Daniel Cemetery is all that is left of her original homestead. Buried in the Cemetery are both Frances Sims Daniel my 3rd Great Grandmother and Fanny Finley my Great Grandmother.
