Ernest Smith 1943 ~ 2007 Ernest "Ernie" Smith, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away Thursday, June 14th. Ernie was born March 1st, 1943 to John Henry Smith and Mildred Evelyn Crawford Smith in Clinton, South Carolina. Married his beloved wife Charleen Adamson, November 18, 1967, later sealed for time and eternity in the St. George Temple. Served in the Navy as a hydraulic specialist and the Army as a jet helicopter mechanic. Veteran of the Vietnam War. Ernie was a member of the LDS Church and served in many church callings. Ernie's greatest passion in life was his family; his adored wife, his beautiful daughters, and his incredible grandchildren. Ernie, with his wife Charleen, opened their home to everyone. Ernie always had a smile and positive outlook on life, no matter what challenges came his way. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed. His passing leaves a hole in our heart that will never be filled. Ernie is survived by his loving wife Charleen, his beautiful daughters and their husbands: Julie and Fred Mismash, Trisha and Shane Grymes, and Pebble Hall; his amazing grandchildren: Jordan, Zack and Mikayla Grymes; Crystal and Ben Meeks; Shane and Ashley Weeks; brothers: William Smith, Otis Smith; sisters: Evelyn Williams, Linda Stringham, and Pat Davis. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Tim Beals and Dr. Baharini Srinivasn. The services will be held Wed. June 20, 2007 at 12:00 noon. A visitation will be held an hour and a half prior to services at the Hunter East Stake 5th Ward located at 5065 West Janette Ave, West Valley City, Utah. Interment will follow at Camp Williams Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association or American Kidney Foundation.
