Lillian Marie Smith, 63, of Miami, Florida, a former Staten Islander and a housekeeping supervisor at state facilities, died Saturday at her home.

Born Lillian Scott in Honduras, Central America to the late Charles C. Scott and Madeline Coye, she moved to New Brighton in 1961. In 1964, she married and started her family.

For twenty-nine years, she was the supervisor of housekeeping for the New York State Office of General Services on the grounds of the former Willowbrook State School. In 1999, upon her retirement, she moved to Miami.

She was a member of the Brighton Heights Reformed Church, St. George.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

"My mother spent her life working hard to provide the very best for her children," said her daughter, Valerie Smith. "She touched everyone's life with her beautiful smile and outgoing personality, and she will be missed greatly by all."

In addition to her daughter Valerie, Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, Michael Scott and Vincent Smith; another daughter, Erica Smith; and ten grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a service at 10:00 a.m. in Brighton Heights Church.
Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
