Holland, Jacqueline "Sally" Ruth age 89, born July 10, 1923 in Montevideo, MN died at Roitenberg Assisted Living August 4, 2012 in St. Louis Park. Graduated Marshall High School Mpls in 1940. Attended U of M, served honorably in the Women's Army Corp (WACS) as an x-ray tech 4th grade during WWII. 15 year employee St. Louis Park Public School serving as a library and health aide. Member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for over 50 years serving as a Sunday school teacher and a library aide. Active in the Lenox School PTA, Cub Scout Pack #282 Den Mother, Campfire Girl leader, hospice volunteer and winner of the Park Nicollet Earl Dresser Award for outstanding volunteer service in 1997. Lover of books, butterflies, sea shells, wild rice soup and chocolate. Preceded in death by parents, Elvia Thorne Smith and Ernest Morgan Smith; brother, Bryson Smith; husband of over 60 years, James Edward Holland; best friend since high school, Helen Livingston. Survived by children, Edward (Mary), Judy (Frank), and David (Kim); grandchildren; sisters-in-law and devoted friends. Special thanks to all her caregivers at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital and Hospice, Sholom-West TCU, Roitenberg Assisted Living and especially her live-in aide, Sweetie. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Park Nicollet Foundation's Hospice Excellent Fund, MN State Services for the Blind or donor's choice. Private inurnment with military honors at Fort Snelling occurred on August 10th. Memorial service will be Monday, October 1st at 3:30 PM with visitation 1/2 hour prior at the MN Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN. Washburn-McReavy.com Edina Chapel 952-920-3996
