Mrs. Lillie S. Benson, 93, of 715 Hanford Pl., died Saturday at the Berkeley Hall Nursing Home, Berkeley Heights.

Born in Manhattan, she had lived in Brooklyn and graduated from the Brooklyn Normal Schook, now known as Brooklyn College. She taught in Brookyln for nine years and had lived in Westfield for over 62 years.

Mrs. Benson also had been active in the New Utrecht Reformed Church in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. Benson was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Westfield, the Woman's Circle of ihe church, and the American Red Cross.

She was the widow of Edward Benson who died in 1968.

Surviving are a son, Edward Jr. of Newark: a brother, Titus K. Smith of Westfield; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Beekman of Westfield and Mrs. Mary E. Cranch of Ithaca, N.Y., and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad St., with the Rev. Homer Horsefield officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
