Mrs. Rebecca Borden, widow of Edward C. Borden, a former resident of Red Bank, died Monday night at the home of her younger daughter, Mrs. Louise Post of Brooklyn. Her death was caused by congestion of the lungs, following an attack of grip.

Mrs. Borden was a daughter of the late Joseph Smith of Red Bank and she spent most of her life here. Fifteen years ago she moved to Brooklyn and had lived there ever since. She was 76 years old. For 43 years she had been a member of the Red Bank Baptist church.

She leaves five children, Mrs. Eleanor Borden and and Mrs. Post of Brooklyn, Joseph S. and Forman Borden of Long Branch and Mrs. Isaiah S. Patterson of Shrewsbury.

The funeral will be held at Brooklyn tomorrow night and services will be held also in the chapel at Fair View cemetery Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
