Dorothy Evelyn Smith Alverson, 92, formerly of the Woodville Community, wife of the late James Cecil Alverson, passed away April 5, 2017.
Born in Hart County, GA, she was a daughter of the late James Victor and Florrie Stamps Smith. She was co-owner of Alverson’s Grocery and a member of Waycross Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Lanny Alverson (Debbie) of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Chad Alverson (Stephanie), Brandi Garrett and Adrianne Alverson; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by daughter, Melanie A. Garrett; grandson, Carey Alverson; seven sisters; five brothers.
