Mrs. Nadija Smith Durden, 95, resident of Stillmore, died Saturday. Mrs. Durden was born in Stillmore, daughter of the late Floyd and Dorothy C. Smith. She had lived in Atlanta for many years and retired from C&S Bank. She returned to Stillmore in 1980. Mrs. Durden attended Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Durden, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Nadija Durden. The Family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Monday evening between the hours of 6-8 P.M.
Survivors include: son, Mike Durden (Judy); grandson, Todd Durden (Linda); 3 great-grandchildren, Adrian, Carmen, and Lucas Durden; 2 sisters, Mary Davis, Stillmore, and Joyce Davis, Seattle, WA; and several nieces and nephews.
