Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Juanita Smith Bailes, affectionately know as "Ma Bailes" age 96, of Swainsboro, GA, on Friday, December 7, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 11 , 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 1:00 PM till time of service.
Mrs. Bailes was born November 1, 1922 in Cookeville, TN to the late Perry H. and Ella Mabry Smith. She and her late husband, Johnny Bailes managed WJAT Radio Station; The Nancy Auditorium featuring The Peach State Jamboree with live music by many well known artists, The Record Hop, The Roller Rink as well as The North Auditorium. Later she was employed by Kinder College for many years. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, John David Bailes; two sisters, Dean Pate and Golda Barnes; brother, Cecil Smith; daughter, Patricia Arnold and grandson, Chad Appling.
