MRS GRACE ANDERSON
ONEIDA - Mrs Grace Anderson 82, of near Oneida, died Monday afternoon at the Glendening Nursing Home in Galesburg. She had been ill for several months. Mrs Anderson was born at Altona on Nov 22, 1871, attended Altona schools and resided all her life in the Altona & Oneida communities. Her marriage to William H. Anderson took place at Altona in June 1891(sic). He preceded her in death on Dec 25, 1952. Mrs Anderson was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and served for several years as a member of the County Kindergarten Board. Her hobbies were flowers and quilting. Surviving are 3 sons, Glen D. of Willow Spring, MO, John K. and Robert J. both of Oneida; 6 daughters, Miss Helen and Miss Margie and Mrs Janet Borst, all of Oneida; Mrs Irene Carmicheal of Walled Lake, MI; Mrs Loree Russell and Mrs Jeannie Peterson, both of Waukegan; a brother, Clay Smith of Galesburg; a sister, Mrs Martha Doyle of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs Marion Garritty, 3 brothers, 2(sic)half-sisters and a half brother preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted Thurs at the Oneida Presbyterian Church. The Rev Ernest Richards will officiate and burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hendricks Funeral Home.
NOTE: she was preceded in death by half bro, William W. & half-sis, Annisse(??) and 3 brothers - Lem, Oscar & Lee. She was married in 1895, per the marriage record.
