Evora Adelaide Smith Bridges, 91, of Eutawville, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Life Care Center of Charleston.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.

Mrs. Bridges was born July 27, 1917, in Charleston, a daughter of Jonah Amon Smith and Mary Catherine Bunch. A member of First Baptist Church of Holly Hill, she was the widow of Broadus Austin "Dock" Bridges, and was preceded in death by a son, Broadus Austin Bridges Jr. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are a daughter, Iris Adelaide (Larry) Bridwell, and son, Barry Austin Bridges, both of Eutawville; two brothers, Clyde (Frances) Smith and Bill (Mildred) Smith, both of Greenville; four grandchildren, Bradley T. (Denise) Bridwell of Orlando, Fla., Tammi Bridwell of Holly Hill, Austin (Shana) Bridwell of Mount Holly, N.J., and Lindsay (Matt) Koury of Rock Hill, and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. this Monday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to Life Care Center of Charleston, 2600 Elms Plantation Blvd., North Charleston, SC 29406.
