Lois V. Beane, Galesburg Chapel 80, formerly of Galesburg, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born September 11, 1933 in Macomb, the daughter of Nicholas and Dorothy Maxine (Sappington) Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Kaletsch and Dawn (and Kim) Behringer, both of Oneida; and a sister-in-law, Patty Smith of Greenbrier, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Smith; and a son-in-law, Joe Kaletsch.
Lois was a mental health technician for the former Galesburg Research Hospital for over 30 years. She was raised and educated in Galesburg, attending Galesburg High School. Lois lived most of her life in Galesburg, except for 10 years in Davenport, Iowa, returning to Galesburg in 2003.

Graveside service will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
