OAKHURST -- Mrs. Genevieve Y. Brown, 54, wife of Walter P. Brown of 344 Laird st., died Friday after a heart attack.
Born in Oakhurst, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of Mrs. Estelle Smith and the late Frank Smith. She had lived in Oakhurst all her life.
Surviving besides her husband and mother, are two brothers, Allen Smith of Elberon and John Smith of Long Branch, and three sisters, Mrs. Ann VanBrunt, Red Bank; Mrs. Margaret Layton, Long Branch, and Mrs. Jeanne Holland, Asbury Park.
The funeral was held Monday at the Brown home, with Rev. Harland T. Gant, pastor of the Oakhurst Methodist church, officiating. Burial under the direction of the Woolley home was in West Long Branch cemetery.
