Miss Ethel E. Smith, 79, of 206 North Euclid Ave. died Saturday at Muhlenberg Hospital, Plainfield.
Born in Brooklyn, Miss Smith had lived in Westfield since J922. She retired 20 years ago after 25 years' association with United Features Syndicate. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield.
Daughter of the late William and Carrie Smith, she is survived by a brother, Elwood Smith.
Private services were held Tuesday morning at the Gray Funeral Home by the Rev. Philip R. Dletterich of the First United Methodist Church. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
