Naomi Bell Cole

Naomi Bell Cole, 80, 305 Windsor Court, died Sunday, (June 14, 1987) in Arkansas City Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 5, 1907 in Hinton, Okla., to Joseph Eugene and Laura Powell Sparks.

She came to Arkansas City in 1923, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Jack R., of Rt. 5, one daughter, Mrs. John (Laura) Jean Childs of Arkansas City, one sister, Mrs. John (Ola) Haase, four grandchildren, Carolyn Long, Diana Schlup, Cheri Cross, and Ronald Cole, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Robert Lee Cole, and one daughter, Betty Laverne Cole, four brothers, Henry, Matt, Clarence and Russell, three sisters, Edith Armstrong, Bertha Harp and Dollie Kent.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview cemetery with David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established with the Church of Christ.

Friends may call at the funeral home until 11 a.m. Tuesday, when the casket will be closed.
