MONTICELLO — Gloria Benjamin, 61, Rt. 1, Monticello, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday
in White County Memorial Hospital after an
illness of two years.
She was born Dec. 19, 1923, in Jersey City,
N.J., to Angelo and Henrietta Bundies
Spinelli. She was married July 14, 1946,
to Robert Benjamin, who survives.
She and her husband formerly operated
Benjamin Electric Company. She was also
a former employee of Monticello
Comprehensive Developmental Center
school. She was a member of Our Lady of
the Lakes Catholic Church and the
church Rosary Fidelity Society. She
was a member of the White County
Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was
active in Cub Scout activities. She had
lived in Monticello since 1951.
Surviving are two sons, Richard, San
Francisco, Calif., and Robert Jr.,
Rozwell, Ga.; two daughters, Diane and
Elizabeth, San Francisco; and two sisters,
Rita Sulzinsky, West Orange, N.J., and
Adaline Russo, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in Our
Lady Of the Lakes Catholic Church, with
the Rev. James Goodrum officiating. Burial
will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday
in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, where the
rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Cancer Research Fund.
