Ann Elizabeth (Spivak) Deren, 97 of Somers, NY, formerly of Seymour, CT passed quietly at the home of her daughter in Somers on June 28, 2013; she was the beloved wife of the late Miecrlow Deren.
She was born December 12, 1915 in Ansonia, CT, daughter of the late Timothy Thomas and Tatianna Anastasia (Zelem) Spivak.
Mrs. Deren leaves her loving family including her son, Michael M. Deren, MD and his wife Anne Marie (Scheidel) Deren of New London, CT, and her daughter, Donna Javier and her husband James Javier, MD of Somers, her sisters, Antoinette (Spivak) DiMauro of Prospect, CT, and Carol (Spivak) Vansak and her husband Vladimir of Oxford, CT, her brother Michael Spivak of Seymour, CT, her grandchildren, Monica Javier Bergman and her husband Eric of Boston, MA, and Brandon Javier and his wife Bree of Breckenridge, CO, a great grandchild, Priya Javier in Colorado, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Her brother, John Spivak, sisters, Helen Klanko Graziano, Mary Saunders Bankert, and Julie Martin, and half brother, Joseph Warion, and half sister, Christine Bodek predeceased her.
Funeral Services are Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. Robert Brown. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Calling Hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
