Survivors include four sons, Edward A Schroeder, La Jolla, Calif, William F Alfeld and Walter E Alfeld, Fort Wayne, and Louis W Alfeld, San Diego, Calif; four daughters, Mrs Dora H Lantz, Fort Wayne, Mrs Esther Zollinger, New Haven, and Mrs Ruth Horacek and Mrs Eleanor Bolenbaugh, Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Albert L Alfeld, Campbell City, Calif and Carl W Alfeld, South Bend; four brothers, Louis and William Springer, Yoder, George Springer, Bluffton, and Edgar Springer, Hoaland; two sisters, Mrs Martha Doerhman, Fort Wayne, and Mrs Amelia Zollinger, Hoagland; 39 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
