MONMOUTH BEACH -- Mrs. Wilbert P. Fendelander, 49, of 10 Shrewsbury Dr., here, died Friday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, after a sudden illness.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the former Marie C. Starr, daughter of Hubert Starr of Long Branch and the late Rose R. Duff Starr.

A resident of Monmouth Beach for 15 years, Mrs. Fendelander was a communicant of the Catholic Church of the Precious Blood and a member of its altar-Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Air Force Academy Parents Association, Maguire Air Force Base.

Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, William Gary Fendelander of Newark, Capt. Dennis Fendelander, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Thailand, and Keith Fendelander, at home; two daughters, the Misses Patricia and Sue Ann Fendelander, both at home, and a sister, Mrs. Rosemarie Strong of Long Branch.

The funeral was this morning in Church of the Precious Blood and burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch, under the direction of the Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.
