"Mrs. Clara Ellen Sterling Bailey, widow of Dr. A S Bailey, Lakewood dentist, died November 17,1940, at the home of her son, Dr. Eugene S Bailey, Highland Park, Ill., where she had been living the past year.
Surviving are four sons, Dr. Arthur S Bailey, J Chalmer Bailey, both of Lakewood; Dr. Eugene S Bailey; Dr. John M Bailey, Evanston, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Chester Massinger, Paterson; four grandchildren, and four sisters, Miss Amanda G Sterling, Mrs. William C Mueller, Lakewood; Miss Harriet Sterling, Pasadena, Cal., and Mrs. Maud Helm, Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Lakewood First Methodist Church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William Ewen. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood, under the direction of W David DeRoche Funeral Home, Lakewood.
Mrs. Bailey was past worthy matron of the Carasaljo Chapter, OES, of Lakewood; a former president of School 5 PTA; a member of the Lakewood Methodist Church, and active in YMCA affairs".
