EAST, Sylvia 88, of Springfield, formerly of Jamestown, went to be with her Lord at the Villa of Springfield on Monday, July 9, 2012. She was born Sept. 14, 1923 the daughter of Harry and Melva Stethem. She was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church in Springfield where she sang in the choir and served faithfully for many years. She is survived by 3 daughters and son of Westerville, 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Harold East, brother Glenn, 3 grandsons and a great granddaughter. Services will be held Thursday 12 noon at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Springfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Friends may also call on Wednesday from 5 until 7 PM at the Powers Funeral Home in Jamestown. Burial will be in the Silvercreek Cemetery Jamestown. The family would like to thank her church family, Cornerstone Hospice nurses and aids and the staff of Villa of Springfield.
