ORD — Dolores A. Stethem, 82, of Ord passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Grandview Assisted Living Center in Ord.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ord Memorial Chapel. Pastor Scott Hausrath will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Ord
Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Dolores Aileen was born Jan. 27, 1934, at Patricia, S.D., to Edward and Aileen (Nelson) Petrik. She was raised at Patricia and received her education at Martin, S.D.
On Dec. 15, 1949, Dolores was united in marriage to Glenn Stethem at Rapid City, S.D. To this union four children were born.
The couple lived in South Dakota until 1952, when they moved to Hyannis. In the early 1960s they settled in Ord, first living on a farm north of Ord and then moving into Ord in 1967. While living in Ord, Dolores worked as a clerk at Absalon’s Variety, Gambles, Jack and Jill, Carson’s IGA and Cetak’s Market. She also helped at the Ord Bowling Alley.
Dolores enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bowling and canning. Her biggest joy was her family.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Guy “Rocky” and Julie Stethem of Burwell; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Bennett and her significant other, Caroll Schriner, both of Hastings, and Deb and Kim Spencer of Las Vegas; a daughter-in-law, Pat Stethem of Ord; a brother, John Petrik of North Platte; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn, who passed away on March 6, 1993; a son, Roger Stethem; and a son-in-law, Mick Bennett.
