and again
"Heinrich and Anna Stobbe never "began using the name Stubb".... an English speaking census taker incorrectly entered them that way in the 1880 census... Later, some of their sons used either Stubb or Stubbs"
from scott sheppard
According to the family list in the church register, she was born 2/27/1827, baptized in 1847 and married 6/10/1853. The family arrived in the US in 1875. The family began using the surname Stubb by 1880 when they are found in Amboy Township in Cottonwood County, Minnesota. That name is used in land records from the time of their arrival here.
She is a part of the family unit in 1895 MN State Census of Amboy Township, Cottonwood County but not with her husband who is living with their daughter, Elisabeth Wiebe, in Lakeside Township in 1900.
I have exhausted local resources trying to find a death record but there is nothing is township and state death records, no obituary, no probate record.
