Funeral rites for Adolph Stobbe, 54, former farmer in this community, will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church. The Rev. O. A. Graebner, pastor, will conduct the service with interment in the family space in Grand Island cemetery. Mr. Stobbe died Friday morning in a Des Moines hospital where he had been taken for surgical treatment. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.
Adolph Stobbe was born at Steinhutte, Germany, Mar. 24, 1887, the son of Albert and Dorothea Stobbe. He came to America in childhod, the family locating at Ord where he completed his education. On April 17, 1912, he married Miss Clara Heyden. They made their home on a farm near Ord until 1919, when they moved their farm five miles southeast of Grand Island, Nebraska. They resided there until 1936, when they moved to this city to make their home. Two years later, they moved to Cambridge, Iowa where they purchased a farm. Mr. Stobbe was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran church during his residence in this community. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran church at Cambridge.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Reher of this city, Claudia Grinstead of Ames, Ia., and Dorothy Stobbe of Nevada, Ia.; two brothers Herman Stobbe of North Loup and Sam Stobbe of this community; two sisters Mrs. Dora Teich of Columbus and Helen Stobbe of Rawlings, Wyo. and a grandchild. His parents and three brothers, Carl, Albert and Frank Stobbe preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
