Violet J. Stone Ard, 75 years of age, departed this life on Friday April 10th, 2009 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Violet was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 16th, 1933, daughter of the late James Stone and Jennie Ramsey Stone. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the High Street Baptist Church for 40 years. Her Sunday School Class was the Polly Anna class. All of the precious members of the Church were so good to Violet and her family. The food that was brought weekly and all the cards were so appreciated. The family is forever grateful for their thoughtfulness.
Violet was survived by her loving husband of over 58 years, Norman Ard; one son Randy Wayne Ard of Somerset, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Autumn (and husband, Corey Alexander) Pearson, with whom she had a very special relationship with; sister in laws, Edna Stone and Wanda Stone; and nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Violet was preceded in death by a son James "Jimmy" Oscar Ard; daughter-in-law, Melanie Whitis Ard; and five brother's, Russell Stone, Clifton Lee Stone, Earl Stone, Raymond Stone, and Howard Stone.
Visitations were held on Monday, April 13th, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory with the Rev. Ed Admunson and Rev. Sammie Adkins officiating.
Burial followed in the Science Hill Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
