Services for Dorothy Stone, 96, of Abernathy will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Abernathy First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Currie, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

She died on Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital.

She was born on June 13, 1902, in Bluffdale. She married A.L. Stone Sr. on March 25, 1923, in the Bethel Community. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1965. She has lived in Abernathy since 1928, moving from Knox County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, A.L. Stone Jr. and Delton Stone, both of Abernathy; two daughters, Billie Grimsley and Judy Stracener, both of Abernathy; a sister, Ima Poff of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
