As was her custom, Mrs. Mary Darst, aged 93, of Dayton, arose at one o'clock to prepare an egg nog. A short time later Mrs. Anna Coleman, with whom she resided, smelled smoke and upon investigation found Mrs. Darst lying on the kitchen floor, her body charred. Her death resulted a short time later. Mrs. Darst had upset the coal oil lamp on which she heated the water and her clothing became ignited.
