Mrs. Theresa Sun Aiello, 59, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on 21 May 2016 after battling cancer in her adopted home town of San Antonio, Texas.

Mrs. Aiello was born on April 21, 1957 in Seoul, Republic of Korea; the daughter of father, Sun Su Kim and mother, Pok Ye Om (both preceded her in death). She is survived by her soul-mate and husband of 31 years, James (Jim) Aiello and her five brothers and respective spouses: Sang Ha Kim; Young Ha Kim; Jung Ha Kim; Yung Ha Kim; Je Ha Kim all residing in Seoul, Korea. She is also survived by a loving father–in-law, Col (Ret.) Charles Aiello; mother-in-law, Polly A. Aiello; sisters-in-law, Mary-Lynn Cushman and husband, Robert; Andrea Aiello; and brother-in-law, Bradly A. Aiello. She is also survived by her son from a previous marriage, Jeremey Bakner.

Mrs. Aiello, was the consummate Army wife; first meeting her husband, Jim, in Killeen, Texas who was assigned as an Army officer on Fort Hood. The couple were married 2 March 1985 and within a years' time the real Army adventure began – filled with separations, deployments and plenty of overseas assignments. Her next duty station with her new husband was on the Presidio of San Francisco, California. While there, she earned an Associate's Degree in Business which set the foundation for future employment as she globetrotted around the world with her husband. Soon after, she departed for Germany for a five-year tour where her faith in God became more refined; dedicating spare time by volunteering with the church. Returning to San Francisco in 1994 was short-lived as she then followed her husband to Stuttgart, Germany. As before, volunteering her spare time with the military's church community and Opus Dei.

After three years, she returned with her husband to Fort Lewis, Washington where she began to broaden her professional resume to include medical patient administration. Her time in Washington State was brief, finding herself accompanying her husband to Kuwait City, Kuwait; while there she returned to her professional roots of office administration within the Directorate of Contracting on Camp Doha. Her greatest memories while in that part of the world was visiting the Holy Land and Egypt; sealing her devotion of her faith in the church's Holy Trinity. Returning to Fort Lewis, Washington in 2001, she started work in Patient Administration at the Madigan Army Hospital, but within two years departed for Kaiserslautern, Germany for five years with her husband.

She split her energies and time between working at the US Army's Landstuhl Hospital Patient Administration and the Catholic Church. During this time, she traveled a second religious pilgrimage to Israel. In 2008, her husband received an opportunity to move to San Antonio. Here they quickly realized this was to be their final residence as the city had everything any major city in the world could offer; especially in its rich Catholic heritage.

Mrs. Aiello would ask to be remembered as woman of exceptional devotion and eternal love for her savior the Lord Jesus Christ which guided her every thought and deed, and also being a very loving and caring wife, friend and mother who endeavored to keep in touch with her God. Her passing is an unmeasurable loss to her husband, family and friends but a huge gain to our Lord Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, and all the saints and martyrs in heaven.

Mass and Eulogy will be on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Drive, San Antonio 78232. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road.

The family requests, in honor of Mrs. Theresa Aiello, memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
