She was the daughter of Norte and Katie Sunday. She had taught school, serving in the Dorothy Lane and Southdale School systems until her retirement in 1975, after 35 years of teaching. She was a graduate of Bowling Green and Miami University. She taught in school districts first in Paulding County in a one-room school house, then Irwin, Arcadia and retiring from the Kettering school systems. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, the Ohio and Montgomery County Retired Teachers Associations, Belmont chapter of the OES #555, and the Dayton White Shrine #13.
Surviving are a brother, Rex (Marcella) Sunday of Tipp City; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth; a son, Kim Sunday Abe; two brothers, Robert and Harry; and one sister, Isabelle Langham.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the Schlientz and Moore Funeral Home in Dayton, with the Rev. Douglas Decelle officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Clairbourne Cemetery in Richwood, Ohio.
Preferred memorials are to the Central Presbyterian Church, 4699 Lamme Rd., Dayton OH 45420-1885, to Hospice of Dayton, or the charity of one's choice.
