Frank Joseph Sweeney was born in October of 1862 Pennsylvania. He was the son of Michael Sweeney and Mary Logan.
He married Emma Francis Toomey in 1882 and they were the parents of John Aloysius, Anna, Lawrence, Frances D., Elizabeth (Sister M. Ernestine, IHM), William Daniel, Frank Joseph, Mary E., Emily, Joseph and Alice Emma. The family lived on Hamilton Ave. in the West Side neighborhood of Scranton, PA. He worked as a brakeman on the railroad, and later was a laborer in the coal mines.
Frank died on July 10, 1919 in Scranton, and was buried with his wife in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA.
