April 6, 1930 - January 19, 2012

Frances Mae Grones, 81 of Waite Park; loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister passed away peacefully on January 19, surrounded by the love of her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Father Matthew Kuhn will officiate; burial will be at a later date. Frances was born to Louis and Genevieve (Taylor) on April 6 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. When Fran was 13, her mother passed away unexpectedly, leaving Fran to raise her 5 siblings. She attended Vocational High School and was proudly awarded her GED. Fran married LeRoy Grones on October 2, 1948 and they lived most of their married life on the North side of Minneapolis amongst their family and many friends. After Fran retired from her 10 years at Prudential Insurance, she and LeRoy became world travelers with the Friendship Force of Minnesota of which Fran was a past President and life member. Fran will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Fran is survived by her husband of 63 years, LeRoy Grones; children, Debbie (Tim) Nelson, Tom (Janet) Grones, Connie (Greg) Trandem, John (Carla) Grones; grandchildren, Nicholas (Christine) Trandem, Ali (Jimmy) Haws, Zachary (Andy) Winter, Benjamin Trandem, Trevor Nelson, Timothy Grones, Andrew Trandem, Travis Trandem and Maxwell Grones; great-grandchildren, Billy Trandem, Cecilia Trandem, Isabelle Trandem and Kathrine Trandem; brothers, Dominic (Lorraine) Schmit, William(Helen) Schmit; sisters, Barbara (Curt) Ohm, Sandra Johnson; and sister-in-Law, Kathy Schmit.

Fran is welcomed into God's Kingdom by her parents, Louis and Genevieve Schmit; sister, Beverly Schmit; brother, Robert (Bobby) Schmit; nieces, Genevieve Ohm and Kimberly Lindberg; nephew, Keith Ohm; and with open arms she will be especially welcomed by her son William (Bill) Grones.
